Jeremy Horton joins the Philtronics Solutions team as Head of Commercial

This month, Jeremy officially joins the Solutions Team and brings along his commercial expertise and pragmatic approach to project realisation. With 30+ years of extensive experience in both direct and indirect procurement and supply chain management roles across a diverse range of sectors, Jeremy will complement the existing team and help manage the increasing demand we have witnessed for product development.

Simon Pritchard commented: “Jeremy joining the team builds on the commercial know-how for every stage of development and production, to deliver high-quality products in a safe and protected environment. I have known and worked with Jeremy in several places over the past 20+ years, so it is a pleasure to see him come in and strengthen the team. It is encouraging to see a high demand for not only product development but retaining manufacture here in Wales. Philtronics Group’s ability to offer added value on both development and manufacturing pathways is proving to be very attractive”.

Once a project comes to fruition, Philtronics Limited can indeed pick up the manufacturing aspect, having already built up the product knowledge gained during the development cycle. Jeremy’s input in the project from the onset means that the rationalisation and optimisation of the supply chain happens at conception stage and not further down the line when deadlines are often critical.

Luke is joining the business this month as Head of Embedded Development. Working alongside Rob Bennett, Luke will provide additional capacity and expertise for product development. With 25 years’ experience in product design from concept to market in consumer electronics and highly regulated industries such as Oil and Gas, Security and Medical, Luke brings a wealth of expertise with him. He has experience in electronic design, certification and approval, firmware and application software. He has also managed several teams across different industries.

Here's what Rob had to say: “We are delighted that Luke has come onboard as our Head of Embedded Development. I have worked with Luke in industry at various points over the past 25 years and he brings a wealth of development expertise with him. His track record in consumer, medical and military product development is second to none.”

Exciting Product Innovation Meeting

It’s always exciting and rewarding when you engage your staff. Today, Rob Bennett, our CTO, led a product innovation meeting with some of the technical team, looking at new areas for product development. The meeting was deliberately low on attendance to ensure appropriate social distancing to help fight Covid-19.

It was particularly rewarding to involve two of our Network 75 undergraduates, Kieran and Ben. We are 100% committed to developing the next generation of skilled workers in our industry and it was no surprise that their enthusiasm and ability to think without boundaries helped contribute to some lively discussion.

The session was focused around product innovation in the musical stage and studio sector. As the whole team has an interest in this, the session was full of energy and passion, resulting in a steady stream of candidate ideas that we’ll now evaluate. The overriding theme was to develop products of high quality – the products will be handmade in Wales.

We are looking forward to sharing this journey with you as we develop what is for us an exciting project!

Philtronics joins forces with Glamorgan Cricket Club

We are pleased to announce a two year sponsorship deal with Glamorgan cricket club.

The partnership will see our Philtronics Solutions’ logo appear on the collar of Glamorgan’s Vitality Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup shirts for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Simon Pritchard, managing director of Philtronics Solutions, said: “One of our main objectives as a company is to support and develop sport in Wales and this new sponsorship agreement with Wales’ elite cricket team is a perfect example of that.

“Both myself and our technical director, Rob Bennett are also passionate supporters of the club so we are delighted to become partners with Glamorgan and hope to share success with them both on and off the pitch.”
